3Thumb.com: Quick restaurant reviews from people you don't know

3 friends came up with the idea to write short reviews of restaurants they liked (or didn't), and post them on the web with pictures. The other friends would chime in with even briefer comments (thumbs up or down). That was August 2001. Then they abandoned the idea. Then Web 2.0 hit, and all the social networking pioneers became bazillionaires. Then the original 3 went out to a restaurant and decided to revive the 3thumb.com idea as a blog. Here's the result.

The place that started this cockamamie 3thumb.com project in August 2001 (which we promptly abandoned for years). I mean, the place is called "Super Duper Weenie" and the guy who runs it is a Culinary Institute of America grad--it HAS TO be good (and it is). Right off of Rte. 95--with highway billboards to boot! Of course... thumbs up.

Great sushi. Tempura cheescake. The owner knows you by name and does magic tricks with rubber bands at your table. Thumbs up.
